A knight in armour kneels in the forest and examines a porcini

Game rules

Track Points, 8 ranks, 9 forager profiles, the mushroom card, the hero gauge and 143 trophies.

In short: you get points for real trips (finds, new species, your first identification of a poisonous species, kilometres and getting back to the car) and a little for quizzes in Learn. The total of points and a complete mushroom card give you promotion. The hero gauge adds a bonus to points, and trophies raise its minimum. The forager profile changes the words, not the rules.

Track Points

For whatPoints
Find (a series of shots of one mushroom within 3 min)+10
Pieces in a find: for each doubling (2, 4, 8, 16 pcs)+3 (max +12)
A new species in your collection+50
First identification of a poisonous species — photographed, not picked+60
Walking: every 250 m of track+1
Ending a trip at the car (within 150 m) with at least one find+10
One shot (a single specimen without a trip)+5
Your own identification (a name you gave yourself, e.g. by voice)+15
Your own identification challenged on a shared expedition−30
Quiz in Learn: correct answer (easy / normal / hard)+1 / +2 / +3

Points from the field only count on trips (solo and shared) and for a One shot; a trip's score never goes below zero. Quizzes in Learn give at most 30 points a day, with no gauge bonus. Importing photos from the gallery builds the map and counts towards trophies but gives no points.

Ranks and forager profiles

Your rank grows with your total points and never goes down. To be promoted you also have to tick off the mushrooms on your current rank's card. Your avatar's frame has the colour of your rank. Rank names depend on your forager profile — there are 9 of them, all free, and the thresholds are the same everywhere.

Game mode

  • Advanced — the whole game: Track Points, ranks, trophies, the gauge and challenges with points.
  • Simple — the Me and Friends tabs: trip log, Learn, ranks, trophies and statistics, trips with friends, One shot and sharing spots, without points and without the gauge.
  • Basic — for those who only want to recognise mushrooms in photos and remember their spots: the map with the “Solo trip” button, the Atlas and Settings, without ranks, trophies or trips with friends.

You choose the mode at the start and change it in Settings (“Change game mode”). Counting runs in the background, so changing the mode deletes nothing. Warnings about poisonous species are the same in every profile and in every mode.

Hero gauge

A value of 0–100. It only grows after a trip with points: +20 and +1 for every 10 finds from different places. In season, from 15 August to 30 November, it drops by 30 a day; out of season it stays put. It never goes below the number of trophies you have earned. Each level gives a bonus to points from trips.

  • Foray — the total of points on the expedition wins.
  • Race — who finds the drawn species first (up to 3 targets: common, medium, rare; no poisonous or protected species).
  • Collector — who collects the most different species; the first in the group to find a species gets a bonus.

Frequently asked questions

How many points do you need for the top rank?

100,000 Track Points and complete mushroom cards for all levels. With typical trips that is about a hundred outings — several seasons.

Can my rank go down?

No. Your rank is based on the total of your points and never goes down.

What is the mushroom card?

Each rank has a list of species to find and mark in a photo (from 5 to 10) — common ones at low ranks, rarer and easier to confuse at higher ones. Promotion requires points and a complete card for your current rank. The cards contain no deadly, protected or rarest species.

Does the forager profile change the scoring?

No. The 9 profiles only change words: the names of ranks, the gauge and its levels, and some trophies. Points, thresholds and trophies count the same in every profile, and warnings about poisonous species are identical everywhere.
