The Sage's path: a curious girl with a magnifying glass, the Expert, the Forest Professor and the Sage on an uphill forest path

Character progression

Your hero grows with every trip. 9 profiles, 8 ranks in each.

In short: you choose a forager profile, collect Track Points on real trips and tick off the mushrooms on your rank's card. Points and a complete card give you promotion, and your rank never goes down. The profile changes the names and the heroes, not the rules.

How your hero grows

  1. ProfileAt start Gribo asks “What kind of forager are you?”. You choose one of 9 profiles or answer 4 questions and the app matches a profile. They are all free, and “Skip” gives you the Provider.
  2. Track PointsFor finds, new species, your first identification of a poisonous species (photographed, not picked), kilometres walked and returning to your car. A little for quizzes in Learn too — up to 30 a day.
  3. Mushroom cardEach rank has a list of 5 to 10 species to find and mark in a photo. Lower ranks have common species, higher ones rarer species that are easier to confuse. No deadly or protected species.
  4. PromotionPoints and a complete card give you a new rank. Your rank never goes down, and your avatar's frame takes on its colour. From rank 5 you get +1 place on an expedition, and at the top rank an expedition holds 20 people.

Hero gauge

Every profile has its own gauge — the Hunter has Instinct. It grows after a trip with points (+20, plus 1 for every 10 finds from different places), and in season, from 15 August to 30 November, it drops by 30 a day. The five gauge levels add from +5% to +25% to points from trips. The Wanderer does not see the drop.

Trophies and avatar

143 trophies — from First blood to feats for the few. Each trophy you earn raises the gauge minimum by 1, so an experienced forager never starts the season from zero. You choose your avatar from 127 heroes in 13 groups, and its frame shows your rank.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change my forager profile?

Yes, in Settings → Profile. The change only swaps the names of the ranks, the gauge and its levels — points, rank and trophies stay, because the thresholds are the same in all profiles.

How long is the road to the top?

The top rank takes 100,000 Track Points and complete mushroom cards for all levels. With typical trips that is about a hundred outings — several seasons.

Can my rank go down?

No. Your rank is based on the total of your points and never goes down. Only the hero gauge drops — in season, when you do not go to the forest for a long time — and never below the number of trophies you have earned.

Do I have to compete to get promoted?

No. Points come from solo trips, new species, kilometres and quizzes in Learn. Duels and contests are an extra. If you do not want points at all, choose the Simple or Basic game mode.
